The Company Brief History

Air Courier International (Private) Limited [ACIPL] has over Ten (10) Years history as a medium size courier Services provided since 1996. As the Company started it was named “M/S Daymoom International (Private) Limited and acquired a franchise agreement of Air Action Limited, UK. The Company operated domestic and International courier services over a period of Two Years and thereafter it ceased Air Action Limited Network as it proved to be not profitable under the franchise system and was too costly affair in order to sustain in International business. However, it continued the domestic courier business successfully and our chief corporate customer has been the Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited [HSBC].

The Company’s Name was changed for better improvement of business subsequently as M/S Trans Express International (Private) Limited and has won a Telecom tender of distribution of Telephone Directories in the year 2004. Then the company also operated very successfully in-bound courier services on account of M/S Dreamco Express Limited, Hong Kong, M/S Nice Express Limited, U.A.E. M/S ACI Worldwide Express Limited, Korea. During the year 2005, the Company deliberately separated from its international business of Hong Kong operations from M/s Trans Express International (Private) Limited to a new company managed and operated by a few ex-directors of this company.

Thereafter the company had to re-organize and re-structure its management and rise form its existed business of domestic courier services. Consequently the name of the company was also changed to “ACI” Group of Companies with the collaborations of ACI Group in Korea.

Currently, we have re-located our company to a new office begins from 01st June 2009 and spare heading for a well established and committed courier services in Sri Lanka with a mission of engaging in globalized business with a long standing personnel in the Company.

The company was first incorporated in 1995 and at present it has re-registered in compliance with the New Companies Act No.07 of 2007.

About ACI :

ACI Worldwide Express Corporations, in Seoul, Korea, is an International Air Express distribution company having established branches in Major Cities of the world. ACI Sri Lanka is now awaiting for its network initiation to start the international courier distribution. The Directors and the Management Team is confident that the company will have a break-though to International courier business with an infusion of funds by a New Investor

Staff Profile

The Company is strengthened with qualified and experienced staff in the courier industry and they are committed and devoted on their Job. 

Mr. Sampath Panwila, Manager has started his carrier in the courier field with “FedEx” in Sri Lanka as courier staff.  He joined “Air Courier International (Pvt.) Ltd.” in the year 2003 as the Courier Supervisor and was promoted to the Manager position in 2008.  He is an under graduate in the University of Kelaniya. He has also passed the Examination of Import and Export Documentation conducted by the Department of Customs with distinction in year 2008.

The other most senior staff member, Mr. Raman Rajendran has gained experience and knowledge over Twenty (20) years in the courier industry having successfully worked with courier delivery of HSBC, BOC (International Division) etc. working in Colombo 1 – 15 deliveries on daily basis.

The Company has invested in its resources to become an important and effective player in the industry.
